PICK Deli & Gourmet

The history and traditions of PICK Szeged Ltd. perfectly blend in a modern, youthful bistro facing the Hungarian Parliament in the heart of Budapest. The self-service restaurant is an ideal place to taste many products from PICK, the leader of the Hungarian meat market since 1869.


Pop in for a hearty breakfast or ask the delicious meals for take away if you don’t have enough time. Taste appetizing sandwiches filled with the famous PICK salami, salty and sweet bakery products, salads or yoghurt-fruit bowls from our Grab ’n’ Go offer.
At lunch time diverse, homey Hungarian dishes from the daily offer attenuate your hunger. At the counter you can also choose from the a’la carte menu and eat on the gallery or outside on the terrace after a long day spent by discovering our lovely city.


If you like the PICK products, you can buy a piece of salami or a gourmet selection and take the flavours of Hungary home with you.

Our History


The company was founded by Márk PICK, an agricultural trademan who learned the skills of salami-making from Italian maestros.

 

1869

A new era started in the life of our company; Jenő Pick took over his father's business. Thanks to his progressive, innovative thinking and developments, the small family business developed into a powerful medium-sized company. The new owner made continuous production possible throughout the year - which originally was limited to winter months- with modern equipment in air-conditioned maturing chambers. 

1906

At the Brussels World Fair PICK wins a diploma of merit Exhibition in Brussels.

 

1935

The commencement of manufacturing of other salami variants. Output grows... However the factory becomes a state property. 

1947-1957

PICK becomes a publicly quoted company. 

1992

The Bonafarm Group was established, of which PICK Szeged Ltd. is a member. 

2010

PICK Szeged Ltd. is the only company in the meat producing industry that can be proud of two of its products declared as Hungaricums.
According to the decision of the Hungaricum Committee, in March 2014 the PICK Winter Salami ’Téliszalámi’ then in May the HERZ Classis Winter Salami ’Téliszalámi’ had officially become Hungaricums.

 

2014

The PICK brand has won for the 15th time the ’Superbrands’ award.
